Privacy policy

This page explains what personal data DH Planning collects when you use dhplanning.co.uk or contact us, why we use it, and how to exercise your rights. It is written for UK visitors under UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.

Who we are

DH Planning is a planning consultancy based at The Old Echo Print Room, 18 Albert Road, Bournemouth, Dorset BH1 1BZ. For privacy questions email hello@dhplanning.co.uk or call 01202 767111.

What we collect

  • Enquiry form. Name, email, phone (if you provide it), location or council area, and the details of your planning query. We use this only to respond to your enquiry and, if you instruct us, to deliver the work.
  • Email and phone. Messages you send to hello@dhplanning.co.uk or left by phone, including any case details you choose to share.
  • Website analytics. We use Google Analytics 4 (measurement ID G-J7KLHHMGV0). It records page views, events such as form submits and click-to-call, approximate location from IP (truncated by Google), device and browser type, and campaign parameters (for example UTM tags) when you arrive from an advert or link. We do not use analytics to identify you by name.

Why we use it (lawful bases)

  • Legitimate interests / steps to a contract: responding to enquiries and providing planning consultancy services.
  • Legitimate interests: understanding how the website is used so we can improve it and measure marketing that brought you here.
  • Legal obligation: keeping records where tax, accounting or professional rules require it after you instruct us.

How long we keep it

Unsuccessful or unanswered enquiries are normally deleted or anonymised within 24 months. Client files and invoices are kept for as long as needed for the work and for normal UK business retention (typically up to 7 years after the matter ends). Analytics data is retained according to our Google Analytics retention setting; we do not sell it.

Who we share it with

We do not sell personal data. We use processors that help us run the site and practice: our email and hosting providers (Fibrehosts / related mail), and Google for Analytics. If a planning application or appeal requires disclosure to a local planning authority or the Planning Inspectorate, we share only what the process needs, with your knowledge.

Your rights

You can ask for a copy of your data, correction, deletion (where we have no overriding duty to keep it), restriction, or objection to processing based on legitimate interests. Email hello@dhplanning.co.uk. You can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) if you are unhappy with how we handle your data.

Cookies and similar technology

Essential cookies or local storage may be used for site function. Google Analytics uses cookies or similar identifiers. You can block analytics via browser controls or Google’s tools; the site will still work for reading content and sending an enquiry.
