Who we are
DH Planning sits within DH Group at The Old Echo Print Room on Albert Road in Bournemouth. The practice works across England: every local planning authority uses the same national application forms and the same appeal system, so location changes the policies we cite, not the way we run a case.
What does not change is the method. One consultant quotes the job, prepares the case, lodges it, answers the case officer and explains every update in plain English. You have a direct number for the person doing the work.
What “thirty years” actually means
It means both sides of the table. Local authority experience teaches how applications are validated, how officer reports are written and where schemes really fail. Private practice teaches how to build a case that survives that process — and how to tell a client early when the case is weak.
It also means we do not sell drawings. Advice on whether a scheme will get through is not shaped by a design fee. Where you need an architect or designer, we work alongside yours or can recommend one.
How we work
- Fixed fees confirmed in writing before work starts
- Applications and appeals managed online by email, phone and video call
- Site visits only where they genuinely strengthen the case, priced into the quote
- Reply within one working day on new enquiries, usually the same day
Who we act for
Homeowners extending or altering a house. Builders and small developers bringing forward plots and conversions. Investors changing use or regularising history. Clients who have already been refused and need a frank view on appeal versus resubmission.
No planning consultant can guarantee permission. What we can do is tell you how strong the case looks before you spend money, and run the application or appeal properly once you instruct.
